Oil Train Derails, Sparks Fire In Oregon’s Columbia River Gorge

The fire sent up a nasty plume of black smoke and that has people worried about the risks of transporting crude oil through this pristine place which is considered one of the most renowned landmarks in the Pacific Northwest.

A spokesperson from the state fire marshal’s office said firefighters have taken a defensive stance to fight the flames, but the best course of action may be to let the fire burn itself out.
